ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — The family members of two convicted killers mistakenly freed from prison with bogus paperwork are urging the two men to turn themselves in.
Lillie Danzy is the mother of Charles Walker, one of two felons serving life sentences who left the Franklin Correctional Institution using forged documents.
During a news conference Saturday, Danzy tearfully asked her son to surrender to someone he trusts and who can bring him back safely.
Henri Pearson also spoke. The self-described father figure to escaped inmate Joseph Jenkins said he thought Jenkins' release was legitimate. He said he picked Jenkins up from jail and drove him around to visit family.
