VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - A Virginia Beach Chartway Federal Credit Union was robbed just minutes before closing Wednesday afternoon.
Officers were called to the Holland Windsor Crossing branch on Holland Road at 4:51 p.m.
Tonya Borman with the Virginia Beach Police Department said a male suspect walked into the bank and handed the teller a demand note before he was handed an undisclosed amount of money.
No one was injured, and the suspect was last seen running toward the Chimney Hill area.
He is described as being a thinly built black male in his 20s or 30s, weighing about 190 pounds, standing about 6' tall, and wearing a black knit cap and dark colored coveralls.
Police have not released any additional details.
